We are told to watch what we eat to stay heart-healthy. And yes while this is the case, watching what we eat is only half of the equation. Of course by avoiding high-fatty foods that are nutrient-light and full of empty-calories foods, you can reduce your risk for heart disease, nut if you do not exercise there is still some risk. Simply because our heart is a muscular organ. In fact it is the most important muscle in our bodies, and all muscles need to be exercised.

Having high blood pressure increases our risk for developing heart disease. Expressing strengthen our heart. A strong heart needs less effort to pump blood all over our bodies. This results in less force build up in our arteries which further results in lowered blood pressure.

Excess fat sitting around our midsections and waist lines is referred to as visceral fat. Excess visceral fat increases our risk of heart disease. Being overweight is one of the biggest influencers for poor heart health, even if you have no other risk factors. Of course diet plays a huge role in weight loss, weight gain and weight maintenance, but so does exercise. Exercise helps us burn calories, which is necessary for overall weight loss. Losing weight can reduce your risk for heart disease.
Exercise helps reduce stress:
Lifestyle factors affect our health. Stress is a contributor to heart disease. Stress is linked to a number of factors that affect our heart health, specifically to high blood pressure. Amongst its many benefits, exercise releases endorphins, “feel-good” hormone. When this hormone is released we automatically feel better, which that can help you reduce stress. This in turn can lower our risk for heart disease.
