When we strive to achieve something, we usually do to achieve a goal. Whether we are looking for family harmony, better relationships, improved friendships, better health or greater satisfaction at work, the end goal is usually the same; greater happiness. Having an underlying Positive Thinking & Psychology will endeavour us to thrive and flourish. For overall health, well-being and goal achievement we need to focus on our physical health as well as our mental health.
At the Yummy Mummy Club we strive for overall health and well being, including a healthy psychology and mindset. Practicing these points focuses on positive emotions and our personal strengths, rather than our personal weaknesses. Using positive psychology can be a great way to improve our mental wellbeing.
Here are our top three positive psychology habits to follow for greater happiness:
1. Focus on Strengths: Too often we focus on the negatives. “What’s wrong with me and how can I fix it?” Instead of focusing this negativity, we should be engaging our strengths.
2. Express Gratitude: Rather than yearning for what we do not have, we do more good for our wellbeing by expressing gratitude and acknowledging what we do have.
3. Forgive Yourself: We are often too hard on ourselves. It is okay to mess up. Forgiving ourselves for our flaws can help us embrace who we really are.
We all know how great we can feel after we eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. However sometimes this is not enough to help overcome some feelings of stress or moments of feeling down. When it comes to overall health, we need to remember about our emotions and psychology. By having a positive mindset we will feel a lot better.
