1. Once a week, take a few moments to sit down and plan out your weekly meals. By make a list of the dishes you will make, will help you create your shopping list at the same time. Our suggestion is to designate every night of the week to a different meal. This way you can still get variety in your dinners. For example, Monday night could be meatless night and Tuesday night could be chicken night and so on.

2. The day before you go to the supermarket, do a thorough look through your pantry and refrigerator. There may be something in there that you forgot you had, or that wasn’t used last week, or on the other hand, you may think you have something when you do not.

3. Know how much food you need for what you are making. Each week this will get easier, and become less time costly. Knowing which meals and which days you will be preparing meals for will make this step easier too. For example, some find that they only want to prep their lunches, and have breakfast and dinner at home. Having a few extra frozen meals may come be very handy at some stage.
