As mums we know that getting out littles ones to eat their veggies is nto always smooth sailing.
Vegetables provide us with good nutrition, minerals, vitamins and fibre. They offer many benefits are an important part of a healthy balanced diet.
Here are three tips to help get tour kids to eat their vegetables:
1. The best way to encourage your children to eat their vegetables is for you to eat your vegetables, and enjoy them, in front of your kids. Children look for someone to imitate and more often than not, that someone is you.
2. Without a doubt, every child will pull a face or when trying new vegetables. Our suggestion is to keep trying, maximise exposure of the same vegetable in different ways: cooked pumpkin vs pumpkin mash for example. Sometimes it can up to 10 exposures of a food for a child to change their mind and decide they like a certain food. Try offering your kid the same vegetable, but in a different form or different meal setting.
3. Everyone reacts well to praise, and by praising your child with positive verbal acknowledgement, can increase the likelihood your kid will eat that same vegetable again, and try other new vegetables.
Just remember to be patient. Your kids will come around eventually!
